What you will do in your working day

You will be working closely with dedicated staff members to gain a thorough understanding of your role and the print industry as a whole. Adaptability is key. You will gain knowledge in operating: Large format digital printing machines, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat.

The training you will be getting

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard (specialising in the press pathway).

The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their "off-the-job" requirement of the apprenticeship during their working hours.

Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Handy Labels and BPIF Training to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship. You will be assigned a training coordinator who will work with you throughout your apprenticeship to ensure that you have the best training and support available.

Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs.

Candidates without the required level of Maths and English will be supported to complete Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship. Most training and studying will be a combination of regular site-based visits at the employer's premises and the occasional remote delivery.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

We would like to keep successful apprentices on within the company, either within a Print Operative capacity or to train in another role. Once employed with us for a year, you will become part of our Employee Ownership Trust. This allows you to share ownership of a percentage of our business and its profits.
