What you will do in your working day
This fantastic culinary career opportunity at The Elephant will include duties such as:
- Daily prep work preparing gravy, sauces, garnishes, ready for a busy service
- Cook, plate up and generally assist the Head Chef
- Opportunity to develop own recipes for changing menu
- Dealing with deliveries, stock rotation and general good admin practices
- Deal with suppliers and ensure correct ordering of pre-arranged lists with Head Chef
- Ensuring particular station and general kitchen are kept clean and tidy, including at the end of each shift, ready for the next service
- Adhering and taking responsibility for following health and safety procedures
The training you will be getting
- The successful candidate will complete a Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with Cheshire College – South & West
- If you do not already hold GCSEs at grade A-D / 8-3/2 in English and maths you will complete Functional Skills in the related subjects to attain Level 1 Functional Skills
