What you will do in your working day

Main duties:

  • Manual machining using mills, lathes and precision surface grinders
  • Hand fitting and building of assemblies
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Workspace cleanliness
  • Using safe working practices

You will be working with a small team of toolmakers and designers making parts for many industries including; automotive, military, medical etc

The training you will be getting

  • The learner will be studying the Engineer Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional skills in maths and English will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
