What you will do in your working day

You will be mobile based and working with one of our highly experienced Audiologists on the job. Your primarily responsibilities will be carrying out fittings and customer rehabilitation of hearing aids. In addition, you will be responsible for all aspects of follow ups and service/repair calls as well as aftercare. Your role will also include referring customers to your Mentor Audiologist who are ready to upgrade their existing hearing aids.

The training during the apprenticeship will take place in Birmingham, however once qualified as a Hearing Aid Dispenser this position is for the London region therefore would suit someone who lives in the London region.

The training you will be getting

Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Audiology, BSc healthcare science (audiology), Certificate or Diploma in Audiology, Award in Hearing Aid Dispensing Competence.

You will achieve a Level 5 award in hearing aid dispensing allowing you to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and to work under the protected title of ‘Hearing Aid Dispenser’.

The apprenticeship consists of on the job and classroom based training in conjunction with De Montford University in Leicester. The course is 24 months in total.

The Hearing Aid Dispenser Apprenticeship is a level 5 qualification approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and allows successful apprentices to work under the protected title of ‘Hearing Aid Dispenser’ once completed.

Things to consider

Driving Licence is essential requirements for this role as it is a domiciliary based role and you will be driving from patient to patient with the Audiologist
