What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not restricted to:
General reception duties, including:
- Answering incoming calls, receiving deliveries, and greeting visitors
- Liaising with clients and HMRC via telephone, email, and letter
- Administration of client records
- Assisting in accounts preparation
- Administration of sales ledger
- Perform various financial reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and suspense account reconciliations.
Assist in the year-end and management accounts processes.
Provide information and analysis as requested and deal with any internal or external enquiries or requests in a professional and respectful manner.
Ensuring that the policies of the company are observed, and that good practice is encouraged, particularly in the areas of health & safety, equal opportunities, and confidentiality
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the organisation which is relevant to your post within the company to meet the overall business objectives.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard. This includes:
AAT Certificate in Accounting (Level 3)
Apprentices without Level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level and have taken the test for Level 2 prior to taking their EPA.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Great prospects for progression to a full-time position for the right candidate.
