What will the apprentice be doing?

  • The successful candidate will be mainly working in the digital print department alongside experienced Signmakers
  • Learning the skills required to run wide format digital printers, using software and maintaining the machines
  • Applying and laminating graphics to a variety of materials used within the sign industry
  • Working with a wide variety of tools and equipment in a practical role
  • Preparing and packaging finished goods ready for the delivery and installation of the product
  • Working within a team environment to make sure daily schedule requirements are met to a high standard

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Standard: Signage technician Level 3 (A level)
  • Functional Skills maths Level 2, Functional Skills English Level 2 if required

Training will take place on a day release basis at Hull Training’s engineering centre.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion of the advanced apprenticeship if available.
