What will the apprentice be doing?
- Carry out all general maintenance tasks
- Practice safe systems of work
- Ensure all tools are stored correctly
- Contribute fully to team working
- Undertake all aspects of garden maintenance, landscaping and commercial grounds maintenance
- Have the desire to learn and become an asset to the company and themselves
- You will also be required to complete the following: planting, plant growth and development; care for plants correctly in different environments
Benefits will include:
- Starting pay of national minimum apprentice wage, paid monthly in arrears
- Statutory holiday pay. Currently 28 days pro-rata
- Statutory sick pay
- Assistance with fares for college
- PPE provided while training
- Periodic performance and pay reviews
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Horticulture or Landscape Construction Operative Apprenticeship Standard
- Day release
- Functional skill if applicable
- First aid qualification
Training - On job:
- Safe use of gardening and other hand tools
- Safe use of petrol powered gardening machinery (subject to age)
- Identification and care of plants, shrubs, when and where to plant them
- Safe working practices related to the above

- A permanent position may be offered upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
