What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Carry out all general maintenance tasks
  • Practice safe systems of work
  • Ensure all tools are stored correctly
  • Contribute fully to team working
  • Undertake all aspects of garden maintenance, landscaping and commercial grounds maintenance
  • Have the desire to learn and become an asset to the company and themselves
  • You will also be required to complete the following: planting, plant growth and development; care for plants correctly in different environments

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training - On job:

  • Safe use of gardening and other hand tools
  • Safe use of petrol powered gardening machinery (subject to age)
  • Identification and care of plants, shrubs, when and where to plant them
  • Safe working practices related to the above
