What will the apprentice be doing?
- Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, emailing, completion of routine forms, registers, school meals etc.
- Assist with reception duties when receptionist goes on their lunch or attends meetings. taking and making telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors
- Maintaining the school’s robust approach to safeguarding by ensuring that all applicable visitors are DBS checked and that the school’s DBS records are maintained
- Assist with pupil welfare duties, liaising with parents/carers, staff etc.
- Sort and distribute incoming, outgoing mail, e-mail and messages to staff
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct
- Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems up to date at all times
- Undertake typing, word-processing, data entry and other IT based tasks
- Filing all relevant correspondence daily and upkeep of files
- Ensure stationery/paper cupboard is adequately stocked
- Carry out all administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Receiving and processing cash, card and online payments for dinners, trips etc. including processing receipts
- Keeping the admin office neat and tidy to ensure a professional image is maintained
- Assist with lunchtime duties if required
- Ensuring that the reception area is always tidy and welcoming
- Photocopy, scan documents as and when required
- Understanding all aspects of GDRP regarding pupils under direction from the team
- To carry out any such other duties that may be required in line with the role
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard includes:
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- All training will be completed on site, no college days, monthly visits from tutor, 20% off the job training
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- After completion of apprenticeship you will interview for a full-time position
