Corkage is looking for a front of house apprentice to work alongside us and develop their hospitality skills set. This apprenticeship is ideal for a candidate with little or no experience in the hospitality industry. The role includes understanding guests experience, serving food and drinks and helping to set up and close the restaurant.

    Once predetermined training criteria have been met, you will receive a share of service charge and cash tips. Staff discounts on wine and an opportunity to dine at the restaurant at a discounted staff rate. Split shifts staff food is available.

    Five days per week, shifts times listed: Monday to Thursday 4pm to 10.30pm Friday & Saturday 11am to 3pm Friday & Saturday 5pm to 11pm.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Your early weeks will focus on getting to know the ropes at Corkage.  Learning and understanding service from all aspects - from table setting to running food and liaising with other team members.

Duties will include:

  • Understanding the guest experience from start to finish
  • Serving food and drinks at tables
  • Helping to set up and close the restaurant
  • Learn to use the till and booking systems
  • Assisting with the pouring and running of drinks
  • Learning to run the bar
  • Meeting and greeting guests

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Hospitality team member Apprenticeship
  • Maths and English Functional Skills if required
  • On and off the job training and location to be confirmed

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The apprenticeship role may lead to becoming a fully fledged member of our team, working up to a supervisory level. If the candidate chooses to pursue a wine led career, they would be encouraged to train to become a sommelier which we would support with trade qualifications such as the WSET qualifications.
