What will the apprentice be doing?
- Provide telephone cover for the office taking messages and responding to enquires, from members of the public, Councillors, contractors and other Council departments, to ensure a high level of customer service is delivered
- Administer the “general waste enquiries”, “report it” and “Fix my street” requests from businesses and residents
- Ensuring appropriate close down on reports once completed. Respond to businesses and residents with appropriate action by telephone and email as required
- Provide general administrative support, such as photocopying, data inputting, scanning, laminating, envelope stuffing and word processing
- Take minutes at meetings
- Collect, open and distribute the post
- Training on the job will be provided with the chance to also attend corporate training sessions

- The apprenticeship will be delivered as a combination of face to face and online
- Functional skills in maths and English if required
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The position is fixed term but there may be opportunity to apply for a vacant position should it be available.
