The candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, ability to work well within a team and have access to their own transport.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The candidate will support the Director and wider team in
delivering high-quality extension, new-build and bespoke
carpentry projects.

This will involve all aspects of building/general carpentry and will

  • Measuring
  • Setting out
  • Cutting timber
  • Fixing timber
  • Skirting, doors and roofs

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • 1 day attendance at College on a day release basis in term time.
    Theory and practical to be carried out within the classroom and
  • End Point Assessment to be scheduled and taken, comprising
    three elements; Practical Assessment, On-line Examination and
    Oral Questioning
  • An Assessor will be assigned to the apprentice who will carry out
    regular site visits for reviews and observations
  • The apprentice must achieve English and maths at Level 1 in
    Functional Skills and sit the exam at Level 2 if GCSE is not
    achieved at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Delivery model, qualifications etc to be input by WCG.
    On-site/project-specific training requirements to be reviewed and
    implemented on an on-going basis

    completion of your apprenticeship (subject to performance and
    business requirements)
