You will be learning how to build motorsport spec wiring looms of all types and sizes, starting on small assembles like sensors, moving up to more complex as they become trained.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Keeping workshop tidy, assisting other Technicians in their builds too
  • Testing and inspecting final parts to drawing
  • All training will be given, but any Electrical knowledge would be great

  • Level 2 Diploma in manufacturing - Knowledge & Skills (workplace)
  • Level 1 Functional Skills - maths (If required)
  • Level 1 Functional Skills - English (If required)
  • End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • After training become a full Electrical Tech
  • Take charge of an area, for example Testing or QC. Longer term, Senior Tech or even a Supervisor

Things to consider

Be willing to learn a new skill, this is very different to OEM type wiring. Be willing to work at a bench most the day building wiring looms or sensors. Happy to work in a small team, including the Company Owner, who is still on the tools. Must be able to get to the location as no public transport to the site.

About the employer

Project DC is a small independent wiring company building wiring looms for some local and international motorsport teams. Including F1, WEC, WRC and lower classes too, even special one off road cars and the like.
