    £500 starting bonus upon successful completion of 3 month probation, to be repaid if the candidate leaves our employment within first two years. Christmas bonus scheme

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Welcoming children into the nursery and settling them into their room
  • Assisting with care routines such as feeding, changing, toileting, cleaning etc
  • Engaging with the children through purposeful play in order to help them meet developmental milestones
  • Helping team members with nursery duties such as laundry, tidying up, organising room, cleaning surfaces etc
  • Giving parents a verbal or written handover at the end of the child's day

  • 6 hours given for training per week - to be organised according to nursery shift rota and schedules.

Things to consider

Looking after children is a physically difficult job, involving physical care duties and lots of energy for playing. A lot of time will be spent on the floor playing with the children. The successful candidate needs to have the energy and physical capability to do the job well.

A family run children's day nursery that has been established for 30 years. We are committed to providing the best quality care and education for children aged 0-5. We have a team of 11 staff and a management team consisting of one deputy, one manager and two directors. The nursery cares for 31 children every day, across four rooms.
