What will the apprentice be doing?

As a level 3 apprentice you will be a key member of the nursery team, your daily activities may include:

  • Planning and implementing fun and educational activities with the children 
  • Play alongside and with children to support their play
  • Supporting children’s creative and imaginative experiences 
  • Maintaining development records on key children 
  • Supervising children at rest times and at mealtimes 
  • Contributing to and promoting health and safety 
  • Ensuring the play area is clean and tidy at all times 
  • Working closely with parents and providing feedback on their child

The Avenue Nursery Aldbourne, near Marlborough, Wiltshire, is located within an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village of Aldbourne is richly scattered in old and historical buildings and easily leads onto the B4192 and provides access to Swindon under 10 miles away and the A419 and Hungerford under 8 miles away and the A4. The nursery has local visits to the Library, care home and their very own allotment on a weekly basis the children and nursery are very much part of the community. The setting enjoy weekly visits from outside agencies that provide a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including French, dance and physical literacy. Aldbourne provides a very homely feel with friendly and welcoming staff providing care within a safe and secure environment. The nursery, built across 2002 and 2003 and first opening in July 2003 and caters for children age 3 months to school leaving age within 2 rooms.
