What will the apprentice be doing?
KCI Logistics Ltd are looking for a Freight Forwarding Apprentice to join our busy team. The successful applicant will be given opportunities to learn about all aspects of the business. This will include experience with air, sea and road freight in both import and export scenarios.
Duties to include:
- Booking in new jobs
- Liasing with overseas agents and customers
- Updating ustomer tracking information
- Distributing supplier invoices
- Gathering and comparing prices from suppliers
- Providing quotations to customers
- Arranging deliveries
- Digital filing
- Learning all aspects of freight forwarding.
Discretionary bonus subject to performance review.
Due to location full driving licence preferable.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- International Freight Forwarding Specialist Level 3 - Ocean Freight Pathway
- On and off the job training and location to be confirmed
On the job training delivered by the employer
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3
Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified the apprentice could move into all aspects of Freight Forwarding, Customs Clearances, Transport Co-ordinator, Customer Service Assistant.
