What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be trained how to:

  • Work with departments across College, providing first line contact for staff, students and employers, ensuring that all are dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner and in line with College quality systems
  • Assist in administration processes, including keeping all systems updated
  • Deal with enquiries from members of the public, students, staff and organisations, both over the phone and in person
  • Ensure that all paper and computer-based records are effectively updated and accurately maintained
  • Provide general administrative support across College
  • Maintain the required stationary levels within the department.
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the level of the post as required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Workplace training and learning, together with weekly college attendance - at our Lowestoft Campus - on Wednesdays between 09.30 and 16.00
  • Should you not possess suitable concession qualifications, e.g. GCSE in English and mathematics at Grade 4/C or above, you will also be required to attend college to undertake Functional Skills qualifications in English and mathematics

You will be required to spend long periods of time working on a computer. All appointments are made subject to satisfactory reference and evidence checks being carried out - prior to appointment - and you will be required to undergo a DBS check.
