What will the apprentice be doing?
This Level 2 apprenticeship will enable you to gain expertise in the technical elements of an Autocare Technician’s role, and also learn excellent telephone, customer service and sales skills. An Autocare Technician carries out a range of services and repairs to cars, car derived vans and light goods vehicles, working within the automotive industry.
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, friendly person to join our team.
You will learn on the job shadowing a mentor, jobs such as:
- Carry out servicing and maintenance on cars and bikes
- Diagnosing vehicle faults manually and with the aid of software and digital tools
- Carry out replacement, repair and balancing of a range of light vehicle tyres
This is just a short list of examples, there will be lots more to do and learn.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprentices will attend South Devon College one day per week, learning the theory and practical skills relevant to qualifying as a Level 2 Autocare Technician. The rest of their time will be spent working with the team at DMS Wrangaton Motors.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship standard, you can increase your knowledge and practical skill set by working towards a level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician standard.
