What you will do in your working day

The job will consist of the following tasks amongst others:

  • Day-to-day maintenance of the gardens and grounds including the vegetable garden and cut flower garden
  • Cutting grass
  • Hedge Trimming and pruning
  • Leaf blowing
  • Planting
  • Weeding

The training you will be getting

  • Weekly college attendance required once a week at Berkshire College of Agriculture
  • Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship
  • An assessor will visit you at your employer every 8-12 weeks
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English unless exempt
  • Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification

  • Full-time role available upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

The role is based in Pangbourne, please confirm in your application you are able to commute daily - Pangbourne train station is a 15 min walk. This is a physically demanding role and you will be working outside in all weathers. Must be able to get to work.
