About the employer

Birchfield Community Primary School and Pre-school was established in 1974. We are a co-educational school for pupils aged 2 – 11 with 412 pupils in our primary school and over 100 on the roll of our preschools. We work hard to provide a stimulating, challenging and enjoyable range of educational opportunities for all of the children. Our curriculum, based on 2014 National Curriculum, has been designed to be progressive throughout the school, revisiting and building on previous learnt skills in order to prepare for future learning. Our children know and remember more through the subject specific sequence of lessons within topics. We often hold themed days to enrich our curriculum further and parents/carers are welcome to join us for these! There are many other exciting features to our school – from the many After school clubs that we run, our Breakfast and Teatime clubs, our educational visitors, trips and residential school journeys, the array of activities that FoBs (Friends of Birchfield School) put on for us and our links with the local community.
