What will the apprentice be doing?

Purpose of role:

  • For ensuring the nursery provides the best possible standards of care and education
  • To contribute a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Nursery
  • To implement the daily routine and care plans into your assigned room
  • To build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met


  • Duties will include creating and providing a stimulating and inclusive environment for the children to develop socially and emotionally as individuals and within groups
  • To provide individual support and learning opportunities to a key group of children
  • Developing weekly plans
  • Making observations
  • Recording individual learning; identifying next steps
  • Settling in new children; liaising with parents
