What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Welcome the children into setting.
  • Find out how they are feeling and their interests for the day.
  • Setting up activities based on their interests.
  • Helping the children during mealtimes.
  • You will be outside with the children every day whatever the weather.
  • Caring for the children's personal needs.
  • Writing up diaries and observations.
  • Working alongside colleagues.
  • Cleaning the room and garden at the end of the day.
  • Setting up ready for the following day.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Apprentices will attend the Buxton campus (college transport available,) every six weeks for an activity day. Apprentices will also be visited in the workplace by their assigned instructor mentor.
