What will the apprentice be doing?

Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technicians plan, select, install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems inside and outside of a project. They are at the forefront of installing new and exciting environmental technologies like heat pumps, solar thermal systems, biomass boilers, and water recycling systems. • Assist with unloading and moving of deliveries / systems on site • Keep site tidy and safe in line with company health and safety policy • Assisting with the installation of fixtures, pipes, sinks, toilets, showers / baths, and drainage • Assisting with the installation and decommissioning of radiators, boilers, and other heating systems such as underfloor

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Plumbing and domestic heating technician.

Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Junior Plumber where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior position, site/contracts/project management, self-employment, or plumbing & heating business owner. You will be eligible for the JIB CSCS Skilled Worker (Blue) Card after the level 3 qualification
