What you will do in your working day
A Commis Chef assists a section chef. The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:
- Assisting in the food preparation process
- Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
- Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
- Assisting other Chefs
- Helping with deliveries and restocking
- Assisting with stock rotation
- Cleaning stations
- Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
The training you will be getting
- Level 2 Commis Chef Qualification
- One Day at Strode College
- Functional maths and English (If required)
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
An opportunity to progress to a Level 3 Chef de Partie may be available for the right candidate.
