What will the apprentice be doing?
The administrator apprentice will assist our sales & project management teams and will learn many aspects of the business:
- Create door set quotations
- Learning technical knowledge of fire doors, ironmongery and construction components
- Learn sales techniques; how to negotiate and create the best opportunity to obtain order commitment
- Support with general administration duties
- Follow up on quotes using sales techniques
- Reporting system errors for continued improvement
- Log orders/losses on a system to ensure a high level of customer service
- Updating technical information relevant to fire door certification
The apprentice will learn about the construction industry and all aspects of door manufacture from enquiry through to invoice.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard
- You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham
- Functional Skills in maths and English, if required
- You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- There will be good progression routes available for the apprentice upon completion of the apprenticeship
- This can include project management roles within the company, and management positions are attainable for the right person in the future
