What will the apprentice be doing?
- Meeting and greeting clients and offering refreshments
- Booking appointments
- Shampooing & conditioning
- Blowdrying & styling
- Colouring & lightening using a range of techniques
- Supporting other stylists.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Alongside all practical aspects you will study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection, alongside environmental and sustainable working practices. There is also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.
- You will be required to attend weekly college masterclasses to cover additional practical training, alongside structured theory sessions.
- The qualification that you wil achieve is the Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals - Hairdressing
- Functional skills if required
- Training will take place at Skills Group Training Academy, Derry's Cross, Plymouth PL1 2SG.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Having completed the level 2 qualification, there will be an opportunity to work towards an Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3 to further enhance your skills.
