What will the apprentice be doing?
As a welding apprentice, you will work alongside experienced welders and fabricators, learning the necessary skills and techniques to become a proficient welder which will include:
- Assist experienced welders in various welding tasks, including preparation, assembly, and welding of metal components
- Learn and apply different welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding
- Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently, following all health and safety guidelines
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications
- Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet required standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and handling of welding materials and equipment
- Attend training sessions and classes to develop welding skills and knowledge
- Follow instructions and guidance from experienced welders to enhance learning and skill development
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including punctuality and attendance
