What you will do in your working day
- Serving guests at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Serving guests at functions such as conferences, meetings, celebrations of life, weddings, private dining events.
- Ensuring guests are happy, comfortable and well looked after.
- Meeting and greeting guests and ensuring BnB guests are well looked after.
- Ensuring the venue is clean and tidy at all times, this involves minor cleaning, stock take, moving stock, glassware, plates etc to the correct room and setting up for events.
- Ensuring the venue is set up and ready for service including drinks fridges, set up, run sheets etc.
- Gaining an understanding of the food served, where it comes from and how it is cooked after training from the chefs and will talk confidently and passionately about the food.
- Working within a team and working closely with other servers and the chefs.
The training you will be getting
- The apprentice will be working towards the Hospitality Team Member Level 2 apprenticeship standard.
- All delivered within the workplace via online training and at Colchester Institute Campus.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- The apprentice could progress into supervisory roles.
