We are a pre-training yard that specialises in racing pre-training and rehabilitation with some breeding on-site. You will need to have previous experience in dealing horses, horse care and general yard duties.

What will the apprentice be doing?

As part of the equine groom role, your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Grooming
  • Mucking out
  • Tacking up
  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Feeding
  •  We have a preference for a competent rider. For the right candidate, we are looking to offer riding opportunities. On site we have salt spas, hydro pools, sand canter track, and on-site Gallops
  • We have over a hundred stables - so will be plenty to keep you busy! At the end of the day - you can relax in our top of the range on-site accommodation if you wish to live on-site

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship Standard:

  • You will also complete level 1 or 2 English and/or maths functional skills if required
  • All training to be completed on site with the employer and your dedicated trainer coach from Haddon Training, this will be done one day a week as part of your off the job training

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Progression to Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship or permanent position on offer when training is complete
