What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking for a highly motivated apprentice who is keen to pursue a career in printing within a company who produces bespoke items for promotional and entertainment purposes. The apprentice will be involved in all areas of image preparation and print of products. The role is focused on the use of print machinery, with the various activities involved at each stage of the print process.
The role will be varied and will include:
- Producing printed matter (Vinyl and paper-based materials)
- Operation of Large Format Inkjet printers & plotters (60”)
- Using flatbed printers
- Laminating
- Application of printed vinyl to substrate
- Cutting of substrates (PVC board, Correx etc.)
- Preparation of artwork for print
- Some elements of simple design of artwork for our bespoke products (signs, leaflets, etc.)
- Some use of print software (RIP, Adobe PS and Ai)
- Preparing artwork for plotter
- Communicating with clients via email and telephone
- Daily cleaning and general maintenance of equipment
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The apprentice will work towards a Level 3 Print Technician qualification over the course of 3 years
- Training will be delivered by a mix of regular online sessions and site visits by the Training Provider
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There is the opportunity to move into full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
