What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Use specialist kitchen equipment
  • Communicate internally and externally with customers and colleagues
  • Maintain excellent standards of personal, food and kitchen hygiene
  • Start of day consists mainly of prep work salad, veg etc
  • Service starts at 12pm-2.30pm
  • Break 2.30pm-3.30pm
  • Service resumes at 3.30pm-8pm

We have a full menu and we also run daily specials for chefs to try and express their work.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training will be at The Bowling Green leigh lancashire WN7 2LD

1 day at Wigan college (mondays)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Future prospects from our point of view would be to progress into full time employment and progress throughout the business.

Our now kitchen manager started as a kitchen porter and has progressed throughout the company.
