We are looking for an apprentice, to support with the high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children within the nursery. Helping all members of staff to implement the daily routine within the nursery; complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship; to complete other training as required; to develop personally.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Assists Practitioners to formulate and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of the children attending the nursery in conjunction with the Nursery Manager.
  • Assists with the preparation of children’s records.
  • Understands and assists in the implementation of all policies and procedures within the setting.
  • Promotes the nursery in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Respects the confidentiality of information received about any child or their family.
  • Assists the Nursery Manager to promote teamwork and equal opportunities throughout the nursery.
  • Activities comply with EYFS and provide stimulation for the children.
  • Children’s records are always up to date and the information is entered in the correct format.
  • Understands policies and procedures; able to suggest additions or amendments; able to query matters they do not understand.
  • Acts as a positive role model within the nursery and interacts professionally with parents and our online software.
  • Shows a positive attitude to teamwork.
  • Parents/guardians understand how the nursery is meeting their child’s special needs and achieving integration; parents express their satisfaction that their reasonable expectations are being met.
  • Undertakes domestic jobs within the nursery e.g. preparation of meals and snacks, cleansing of nursery and equipment.
  • Ensures that standards of the personal hygiene policy are met.
  • Reports immediately any notifiable diseases in self or that you become aware of in other staff, children or parents.
  • Follows the bodily fluids policy and procedure and ensures other staff do so.
  • Reports any issues or concerns to the Nursery Manager, Deputy Managers or Company Directors.
  • Records accidents/incidents or concerns on our online system.
  • Ensures that the safety and safeguarding of children is paramount and at the forefront of their thoughts at all times.
