What will the apprentice be doing?
Duties will include:
- Reception
- Booking patient appointments face to face and on the telephone
- Dealing with queries from patients and other healthcare professionals
- Actioning internal tasks from clinical and non-clinical staff
- Processing new patient registration forms
Admin:
- Scanning and filing documents to patients records. Post in & out
- Raising and printing blood forms
- Distributing lab reports to GP’s
- Assist with the processing of Insurance/Private work
Other:
5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.
Sick pay will be paid for 3 consecutive days then SSP for any subsequent days.
Full training will be given in order to complete the above duties to the best of your ability. Lockswood Surgery and Boom Training will provide ongoing support and guidance to guide you through the apprenticeship content.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Business Administrator Standard, which includes:
Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Business.
You'll have a personal assessor to guide you through your training
You will attend online 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2/3 weeks
End Point Assessment (online).
Occasional group classes with other learners (optional).
Business Administrator Certificate from IFATE and City & Guilds

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
A possible full-time/part-time position is available at the end of the apprenticeship for the right candidate. Salary is yet to be determined for this role but it will exceed the National Living Wage.
