What will the apprentice be doing?
We’re looking for caring and passionate people who want to make a real difference to the lives of others.
You don’t need any experience; we will train you and there are lots of opportunities for development.
As a Support Worker, you will assist older adults who have had a spell of illness get back to independence in their own home. Working alongside other professionals, you may initially be providing some personal care, helping with therapy exercises, and giving emotional support to help clients regain the skills and confidence they need to manage these everyday tasks themselves.
You will learn skills for life by becoming a JCR Support Worker Apprentice.
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals to become Apprentice Support Workers.
Being a Support Worker is a rewarding and key role, helping older adults who have had an illness or injury to regain their independence at home.
During your apprenticeship, you will work alongside experienced staff delivering high quality care. Your role will be varied and will include:
- Visiting clients in their homes
- Teaching client's new skills to help regain independence
- Making clients comfortable
- Talking and listening to clients
- Support with meal preparations
- Provide assistance/support with personal care
We provide all the training you need - you don’t need any previous experience, just the desire to make a difference. You will also need a full driving licence to meet the travel requirements of the role.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
We will train you on the job, in the workplace and it won’t cost you a penny. You will then receive a Level 2 Diploma in Care (Adult Care Worker).
We will support you all the way during your apprenticeship. Our apprenticeship programme offers many benefits from working with a large organisation, including:
- Mentoring support
- When you complete your apprenticeship, you will receive a certificate as an Adult Care Worker
- You will be in a permanent role as a JCR Support Worker when you pass your apprenticeship
- There are lots of opportunities for career progression
