What will the apprentice be doing?
The working week in dentistry varies from day-to-day.
- For your first few weeks (or until we feel you are competent & you feel comfortable), we will buddy you up with one of our experienced & qualified dental nurses. You will be working alongside a dentist, helping and assisting them in all types of dental treatments. Our dentists are keen to help you and will explain what they are doing
- Other days you will be assisting one of our Hygienists. Here you will learn about gum disease and how best to treat it. You will also learn our cross-infection control procedures and how to decontaminate and sterilise the instruments. There is a lot of information to take in and learn, but we will always be on hand to help you understand and retain the knowledge needed for each procedure
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Dental Nursing Standard
- Monthly one to one development coach visits
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once you have completed your training and exams, we could offer you full time employment with a competitive salary.
