What will the apprentice be doing?
An exciting and unique opportunity has become available within the glass industry. This role will involve the manufacturing of glass, using traditional methods of hand cutting glass combined with the use of modern machining. The successful candidate will be involved in the creation and fitment of glass for residential use and commercial including shop fronts, hotels, salons, restaurants, public houses and churches.
The role will involve:
- Bench hand cutting of glass
- Operating CNC machinery
- Learning traditional techniques of cutting glass
- Following drawings to customer specifications
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Hull Colege will deliver the Apprenticeship Standard Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2
- Functional skills if required, delivered by Hull College
- No day release element
