What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be working primarily in the catering department, with a range of tasks from preparing food, to supporting the wider team in general kitchen-maintenance.

  • To work with the kitchen team to produce the fresh items daily to the standards set in the SOP manual
  • To assist and monitor food stocks and stock movement
  • To learn and record skills and recipes from other members of the kitchen team
  • To follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen and clean the section and other areas as directed
  • To ensure that food preparation is completed in your section on time and to an exceptional standard
  • To comply with all REL policies and procedures to ensure that all-statutory regulations are observed
  • To comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies
  • Complete all apprenticeship coursework required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards a Commis Chef Apprenticeship Level 2. You will have a dedicated industry expert to guide and coach you through components of your programme and you'll experience a range of different learning opportunities.
