What will the apprentice be doing?
Working as part of the team supporting the needs of a range of students. Our curriculum focuses on the core skills, English, Maths and Phonics and we carefully support our students' communication and sensory needs.
You will assist teachers across the school and help students with their learning, helping them reach their full potential.
Deliver individual and small group teaching
You will be expected to demonstrate:
- Excellent communication skills
- Resilience, flexibility, empathy and creativity
- An understanding of how children and young people with additional needs learn
- Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
- Have the ability to build professional, positive and trusting relationships with children, young people and families
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Training 1 day per week at Strode College
- Teaching assistant level 3 qualification
- Maths and English functional skills (if required)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Continue working with the current organisation
