What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Update and confirm to customers the details of their shipments
  • Track live shipments and update customer, reporting any delays to them
  • Take new bookings from the customer and seeing them through to delivery
  • Book transportation from various countries with the European Union and ensure all customs documents are readily available to export back to the UK
  • Ensure that all jobs are billed in a timely fashion and completed within the time frames

  • Liaise with customs, warehouse and domestic transport teams
  • Plan and arrange the export trailers and the transport paperwork
  • Update internal transport management system and spreadsheets

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • This is an 18-month Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. You will be required to attend the training provider (In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge WS9 8UG), 2 days per week over a 5 - week period as part of the training, and you will have monthly assessor visits to see you at the company

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Full-time position within the freight industry as a Freight Forwarder
  • Possible further education after apprenticeship
