What will the apprentice be doing?
- Update and confirm to customers the details of their shipments
- Track live shipments and update customer, reporting any delays to them
- Take new bookings from the customer and seeing them through to delivery
- Book transportation from various countries with the European Union and ensure all customs documents are readily available to export back to the UK
- Ensure that all jobs are billed in a timely fashion and completed within the time frames

- Create freight bookings
- Book in collections
- Liaise with customs, warehouse and domestic transport teams
- Plan and arrange the export trailers and the transport paperwork
- Update internal transport management system and spreadsheets
- Proactively engage with the customers and answer queries in a quick and efficient manner, by telephone and email
- Support with all aspects of required administration
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- This is an 18-month Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. You will be required to attend the training provider (In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge WS9 8UG), 2 days per week over a 5 - week period as part of the training, and you will have monthly assessor visits to see you at the company
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Full-time position within the freight industry as a Freight Forwarder
- Possible further education after apprenticeship
