What will the apprentice be doing?

Hirst Livery and Sports Horses are a large livery and competition yard. Producing young horses, show jumpers and working hunters for 'Horse of the year'.

All general duties to include but not be limited to;

  • Feeding
  • Watering
  • Mucking out
  • Grooming
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging

Must be reliable, hardworking and use their own initiative. You will work alongside the owners and other members of staff.

We could offer a riding position to an apprentice, but it must be someone with competition experience.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • A level 3 certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the apprenticeship
  • All training will take place within the workplace
  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit you at work every 4 weeks.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is the opportunity for a full time job at the yard, or the option to undertake further apprenticeship training.
