What will the apprentice be doing?
- Receiving boxes of bundles from the line feeder, checking all zips are present and correct and requesting further boxes throughout the day, as required, to be sewn.
- Removing bundles of pieces from the box and sorting out, if necessary, into a logical sequence ready for sewing.
- Identifying work by either writing or sewing in identity marks on all pieces sewn.
- Checking pieces for flaws and request re-cuts from line feeder as necessary; advise line feeder of need for more cotton, zips etc.
- Sew pieces according to specification, check pile and pattern direction if necessary, sewing in darts, pleating and gathers, inserting piping cord, elastic and zips, attaching fibretex, adjusting and easing the fit of components as appropriate, webbing, lining and other sundry items as required by specification.
- Sewing in work tickets and labels as required by specification and return pieces to box.
- Check tickets 'set' is with bundle and removes; retains 'personal' ticket and sort if necessary the remainder into sequence required for insertion during sewing as required by other departments.

Your training will take place within the work place, where you will be given quality training by experienced Lebus colleagues and fully supported by Springfield Training teaching staff, as you work towards gaining a valuable Sewing Machinist Level 2 qualification.
