What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Working with children with additional needs such as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD
  • Offering support across the full curriculum
  • Opportunities to support targeted interventions
  • Support individuals or small groups through the five periods of the day
  • Opportunity to observe level 3 TAs deliver targeted interventions in bespoke areas including zonesd of regulation, lego therapy and social skills
  • Ongoing reviews and support with a dedicated school mentor 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Teaching Assistant Level 3, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.


As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Possibility to lead to a permanent contract at the school or within the Trust if available.
