What will the apprentice be doing?
Responsibilities:
As the Apprentice Maintenance and Operations Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and offsite, observing health and safety codes.
- Various tasks ranging from assisting staff with new projects, offering suggestions on existing methods, conducting research, writing reports, and managing data.
- Supporting with ensuring that Health & Safety requirements are met by checking that all equipment is maintained to a safe and effective operating standard.
- Supporting with ensuring that Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks are conducted in line the PPM plan when and where required.
- Supporting & providing suggestions to production team in driving continuous improvement.
- Undertaking installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance, and repair of a range of equipment, sometimes complex as part of a planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.
- Supporting with fixing breakdown faults and arranging for replacement equipment, completing reports, and informing production director of progress.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
- Day release to West Suffolk College.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
If successful, there will be a potential opportunity for a full-time job role with The Turmeric Co.
