What will the apprentice be doing?
- Liaising with clients when required to confirm arrangements for site visits alongside engineer.
- Ensuring that you have necessary paperwork (e.g. repair sheets, method statements., rick assessments etc.) and instructions before commencing site visits.
- Assisting lead engineer in performing scheduled repair work on passenger and good lifts.
- Assisting lead engineer on breakdown calls when required.
- Working alongside a lead engineer.
- Observing and assisting with routine servicing of passenger and good lifts.
- Carrying out site surveys and risk assessments with lead engineer.
- Ensuring all paperwork (e.g. weekly timesheet) are handed into the office by 9am.
- Complete job-related training courses as advised by department manager.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
We will support and coach the apprentice through the apprenticeship standard. We will carry out both curriculum and pastoral care. We will carry out the skills development workshop days off site. We will oversee the teaching and learning around the knowledge, behaviours and skills elements of targets, milestones and deadlines are achieved.
Mode of delivery: To attend Keighley College on a day release basis over the 36 months alongside observations and assessments carried out in the work place. An assessor will visit the place of work every 6-8 weeks.
Supporting qualifications to be achieved throughout the apprenticeship.
- EAL Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (QCF)
- Pathway EMG: Lift Servicing.
- Pearsons BTEC L3 Diploma AME.
- Functional Skills (If required) Maths, English at level 2 – online resources, workbooks, attending weekly workshops.
