What will the apprentice be doing?

The Apprentice’s Role

Duties are likely to include:
- Booking appointments
- Shampooing, conditioning, blow drying and styling hair
- Colour and lightening using a range of techniques
- General tidying
- Customer relations and front of house

You’ll study hairdressing topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection, alongside environmental and sustainable working practices.

There’s also the option to learn about promoting products, perming, and working with different hair types.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards your Level 2 Hair Professional qualification and additional Functional Skills if required.

You training will prodominantly take place in your workplace with some additional learning days each month and assessments taking place at Skills Group, Derrys Cross. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On completion of the level 2 qualification, there will be an opportunity to work towards an advanced level 3 to further enhance your skills.
