What will the apprentice be doing?

An average day will include:

  • Understanding our working procedures and job tickets
  • Setting up and running various machinery
  • Being able to understand concepts and create full samples for future products
  • Working as a team and working to best practice
  • Guiding the business in best practice and procedure
  • Understanding how paper and card work to create a luxury product

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard delivered by BPIF Training. Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Dayfold and BPIF Training. You will be assigned a training coordinator who will support you throughout programme to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs. Most training and studying will take place on-site, with occasional remote sessions. Candidates who do not have the required level of maths and/or English will be required to complete functional skills as part of their apprenticeship.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once the applicant has completed their training, they will become part of the team and continue their work progression. This potential pathway could lead to running the department/shift, or becoming more involved within the cardboard engineering and leading that side of the business from a concept to prototyping.
