What will the apprentice be doing?

Burton Morewood CE Primary and Academy and Nursery is an OFSTED rated Good school. It has a wonderful staff team lead by a passionate head teacher. The school is situated in Burton in Kendal, just outside Carnforth. It has lovely surroundings and excellent facilities. It is a small school and perfect for an aspiring apprentice looking to secure their qualification in Early Years. The school has an excellent track record of training apprentices and is very much dedicated to helping staff flourish and reach their potential.

Key Duties:

To act in accordance with the school’s policies and Procedures
To act as a role model and work in accordance with the school’s values, pride, ambition, respect, reliance and excellence.
Support pupils to understand instructions support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils.
Support the classroom teacher on behaviour management and keeping pupils on track
Support Pupils in social, health and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presenting of pupils work and contribute to a safe environment.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures

Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:

Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster and Morecambe College
