What will the apprentice be doing?
- To provide a safe secure environment for all children
- To work as part of a team assisting the development and care for children
- To liaise with parents as and when required
- To organise and implement activities within the setting
- Ensuring that the children are safe, secure, and happy inside and outside, whilst they are at Nursery
- Assisting children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties
- Liaising closely with parents/carers, informing them about the Nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement
- Understanding the cultural, religious, ethical, or personal preference issues that some parents may have in relation to their child
- General housekeeping duties to support maintaining a safe environment
- Planning activities
- Assisting children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will complete a level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship programme.
You will attend The Learning Foundry campus in the heart of Liverpool for 1-day monthly workshops.
Regular visits with your development coach for full support throughout your apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We would encourage you to complete your Level 3 qualification where you can then go on to progress to other roles such as, Room Leader should a position become available.
There are also many more vital roles, such as, Partnership with Parents, Health and Safety Officer, Eco Schools Champion and many more.
