What will the apprentice be doing?
- To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children 0-5 years of age.
- To ensure nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
- To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the deputy nursery manager/nursery manager.
- To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This is an Advanced Apprenticeship as an Early Years Educator and will include a combination of on and off the job training in the workplace. You will have monthly mentoring and guidance at work from a Craven College Learning & Development Advisor alongside weekly college attendance. After 18 months you will be entered to undertake an End Point Assessment, to complete your Apprenticeship.
Apprentices must successfully complete the Level 3 Early years educator qualification plus Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) to meet the EYFS requirements.
The End Point Assessment will comprise of a Knowledge Test and Professional Discussion underpinned by a Portfolio of evidence.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
May lead to permanent employment once qualified.
Progression roles include SENCO, safeguarding or Health and safety officers. Room leads.
