What will the apprentice be doing?

This apprenticeship will suit someone who has an interest in all aspects of print production. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and an appreciation of the importance of quality, consistency, and teamwork. Supervision and training will be provided; however, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative where necessary.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Operating a variety of print finishing equipment under the supervision of our experienced team
  • Machinery includes guillotines, folding/stitching machines and cutting/creasing machines
  • Learning about print manufacturing in general and the important role the print finisher plays in the whole process

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Superior Creative Services and the BPIF. You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs. Most training and studying will be a combination of site-based and remote delivery.
