You will assist in all areas of the kitchen in a multi-award winning pub / restaurant, whilst studying for your apprenticeship. You will gain knowledge and experience by prepping various sections throughout the kitchen. As a commis chef, you will be expected to work to the same high standards as the rest of the team using recipes and specifications.

What will the apprentice be doing?
The successful candidate will be taught basic traditional cookery in our brand new, recently refurbished kitchen using top of the range equipment as well as everything Health and Safety related.

You will work with fresh, seasonal food on a frequently changing menu where we actively encourage ideas from everybody within the team.
You will be expected to embrace our food culture and will be encouraged to add your input to menu development.
No experience is necessary as you will be mentored and coached by our long serving chefs, not only in food preparation and cooking but all food safety and cleaning standards.
We also offer further external training to our chefs to help maintain and encourage their learning.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The candidate will follow a Level 2 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a full Level 2 Standard in Commis Chef. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College - South and West.
If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A-D (9-3) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 1 Functional Skill in the relevant subject.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of the apprenticeship, we would support you onto the progression path to Head Chef.
